A bit up north, the beautiful area of Hampstead Heath is located. As soon as the 168 bus stops at the Royal Hospital station, you forget that you are still in London.

The first time I went to Hampstead was mainly because of Parliament Hill. The highest point of the park is known as one of the best spots to have a view over the London skyline. And it's for free! But the park is much more than a mere lookout point. Other than Regents or Hyde Park, Hampstead is much more natural and wild. Muddy paths, group of trees and little ponds cover the area. It looks so rural that you actually can't believe it's located in a city.

You can even swim in one of the tiny lakes, but as it was mid-November, it didn't seem like the best idea in the world.

Another highlight is the area itself. It is very calm and has many unique shops. At the south-west exit you can find my favourite bakery, Karma Bread. As I wrote in my vegan guide, the have the most amazing cinnamon rolls! Make sure to try the brownies and focaccia as well.
